Spirit of Women network hospitals maintain a comprehensive set of performance guidelines focused on women's centered services. New hospitals are required to meet a minimum of 50% of the standards within the first two years of membership. The standards target the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in women and also provide a framework for wellness and prevention that is guided by the national wellness platform of Healthy People 2010. Each of the seven standards has both educational and clinical service components.
Areas for the seven standards are:
- Community Assessment and Targeted Women's Programming
- Life Stage Program Planning
- Diversity
- Strategic Alignment of Women's Services
- Innovation in Outreach
- Quality Improvement
- Multidisciplinary Integration
