Each year, Spirit of Women develops a National Educational Platform. Working from a detailed analysis and understanding of leading women’s health issues and concerns defined in the public health arena, Spirit of Women positively addresses the healthcare issues faced by women and their communities.

The following core themes will be woven throughout Spirit communications , events, program strategies, electronic media and public relations:

CV: The diagnosis and treatment of  cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the United States, including stroke and peripheral arterial disease focusing on education and action to reduce risk

Cancer: The early detection of and therapeutic intervention for cancers in women including breast, gynecologic, colorectal, and the leading cause of cancer death in women – lung cancer

Diabetes: The early detection and treatment of diabetes and its precursor metabolic syndrome to prevent chronic disease and complications

GI: The diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterological disorders including stomach distress and disease that impairs the quality of life for women

Lung: The diagnosis and treatment of respiratory health conditions including the third leading cause of death in women chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as allergy, asthma, and sleep-related respiratory disorders

Ortho: The lifestyle changes and orthopedic care for bone and joint health to protect and ensure a lifetime of mobility

Safety: The recognition of safety and security as a women’s health issue as it pertains to access to healthcare, family wellness and sense of wellbeing

Pelvic: The promotion of pelvic health as a core women’s health and quality of life concern with protocols for screening, early intervention and treatment
